A path less travelled

A city-girl born and raised, people are often surprised to find out that farming was not a lifelong dream of mine. Instead it was a hidden passion that I discovered almost by accident. Had it not been for a lifelong love of horses and finally realizing the dream of horse ownership, I may never have left the city.

The day that I realized I wanted to bring my horses home was the day that I chose the path less taken. And as Robert Frost would say, that has made all the difference.

Having walked this path for a couple of years now, I have never worked so hard nor been so happy. I have learned so much along this journey - raising animals, managing the land, running a small business and so much more. But at the heart of all those lessons, I have learned priceless lessons about myself and been blessed with friendships old and new.

I hope to share some of my learnings with hindsight and a touch of humor through this blog.
