Livestock Guardian Dogs

Our livestock guardian dogs are arguably the heartbeat of the farm. They live full-time with their flock of sheep and goats and are charged with protecting them from predators. As development around our farm increases, the displaced predators increasingly view livestock as fair game.

Seeing our sheep and goats choose to hangout with these incredible dogs makes it seem likely that they know these dogs are their protectors every bit as much as their human shepherds.

Anatolian shepherd puppies, Eve and Ruth, are already hard at work keeping their goats safe from predators.

Eve is large and in charge. Eve’s dominant and bold personality serve her well as she patrols the perimeter.

Ruth is the more submissive of the pair and most likely to be found snuggling up with her goats. When Eve alerts, Ruth has her back and watches while assessing the potential threat.
